ICAA Northern California chapter hosting Q&A with Thomas Jayne on April 23

Published 02.26.19

Join the Institute of Classical Architecture and Art’s Northern Callifornia chapter and Thomas Jayne for a lively discussion of Classical Principles for Modern Design on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at the James L. Flood Mansion at 2222 Broadway in San Francisco.

The evening will be moderated by fellow decorator, Paul Wiseman, head of The Wiseman Group, who will be bringing his own perspective on how classical and modern elements work together — it should be a particularly insightful conversation.

A wine reception and book signing will start at 6pm followed by talk at 7pm. Reserve your place via the ICAA’s Northern California chapter site. With special thanks to The Wiseman Group for underwriting the event.

And, with San Francisco on our minds, we have pulled an old favorite out of the archive– at top, the dramatic living room of a San Francisco apartment we decorated 20 years ago, at the time the highest residential space in the city. The upholstery forms were inspired by the 1960’s architecture, but updated with the palette of the moment — a good representation of how the modern can be inspired by the past, both recent and far ranging.
