Thomas Jayne shares thoughts on “Clutter” and book publishing on two panels during Legends 2019

Published 04.30.19

His long experience in book publishing and creating inspired decoration with seemingly disparate objects served him well at two events held during La Cienega Design Quarter’s 2019 Legends week.

Known as the most important design event of the year, Legends draws (as noted on their site) “thousands of influencers, enthusiasts, top design editors, and purveyors of design from across the U.S. and from around the world to the LCDQ for three days of keynotes, open houses, discussions, book signings, exhibitions, social events and networking.” Thomas Jayne has in recent years made the pilgrimage, often participating in a few panels along the way. This year he was pleased to be part of two, the first held at Christopher Farr’s showroom, was titled “Navigating the Book Publishing World,” and brought together a few seasoned authors to share some of the risks and benefits of undertaking such a project. Annie Kelly, prolific author herself, moderated. The second, sponsored by 1stdibs and hosted by Tony Freund, editor of 1stdib’s Introspective magazine, was titled “Clutter can be Cool”, and took an alternative view to the current Marie Kondo organizing craze.

Two articles about the 1stdibs “Clutter” panel were featured on House Beautiful’s site and Yahoo News.

…And a taste of Los Angeles living

We never like to miss an opportunity to share our work in locations where Thomas Jayne will be visiting. Here is a gracious home in the Brentwood area that we decorated for a client that favors lush floral walls framing her even more lush garden.
