The hand painted design on the living room walls is based on an 18th century English dress silk pattern. An 18th century tapestry is seen just beyond in the front hall.

The living room mural was painted on canvas and detailed to conform to the room's architecture. The mantel and chairs are 18th century Venetian.

A custom arcaded frame, which includes mirrored panels, was built around the original arched windows in order to accomodate curtains and window shades.

Openings were reorganized to frame views between rooms, especially from the kitchen into the living room. Doorways were enlarged and heightened, a divergence from the original pre-war architecture of the apartment.

The square dining room was tented and centered with a round table.

A Dutch buffet displays 19th century English porcelain. An eglomise chinoiserie panel by James Mont, one of a pair, hangs above.

The second bedroom was transformed into a library, but retains functionallity with a sofa bed for guests. The room also displays part of the client's extensive collection of portraits.

Two Egyptian Revival bookcases were custom made for the room. They flank a flat screen tv which is surmounted by a portrait from artist Marianne Barcelona.

Hand painted Chinese wallpaper supplied by Gracie covers the walls of the master bedroom. The room was decorated with a recessive color scheme as a foil to the wallpaper.

A custom mid-century modern style vanity and a 1940s mirror contrast against the 18th century style wallpaper.
